Las Vegas Tea Fest to Debut in the Arts District! Sorry for the long blog absence but I have been hoppin'! And it's all for a great reason! I am so proud to be a part of the very first Tea Fest to be held in Las Vegas! That's right folks. Sin City is a boiling pot of tea debauchery!
When I first moved to Las Vegas, before I launched JoysTeaspoon.com, I began searching out all of the tea offerings here in Vegas. There were a select number of coffee shops and restaurants with decent tea offerings, a handful of online businesses, and a pair of national chain retailers here in town. While the tea landscape in Vegas has somewhat remained the same over these 3+ years, the tea culture in Vegas has begun to take on a life of its' own.
We have a fantastic Mandarin Oriental Tea Lounge that I enjoy visiting every chance I get. With their Gong Fu Cha tea service and special events, they have repeatedly offered unique events for local tea lovers to enjoy. On top of that, we have seen a huge amount of growth with the Henderson/Tea Lovers Meetup Group that really kicked off in November 2011. Couple that with the Las Vegas Tea Series tea classes now being offered twice a month at the Trifecta Gallery, an active and well established ChinaTown, a number of retailer specific tastings and events held throughout the valley, and the World Tea EXPO being held here annually - one can easily see the beginnings of a very unique tea culture right here in Vegas.
It is because of this that my partner and I decided to launch a locals Tea Fest! The Las Vegas Tea Fest will be held at the Arts Factory in Downtown on November 10, 2012, from 9:00AM - 5:00PM. Focused tea tastings, access to local tea retailers, cooking with tea demonstration, tea pairing sessions and so much more are on planned throughout the day! We invite tea drinkers, and those interested in tea, to come on out and explore what Vegas has to offer.
In addition, we will be holding a Silent Auction/Raffle that will benefit our friends at Studio8Ten, a non-profit art studio and gift shop providing creative, business based employment to people with disabilities!
