Gunpowder, a green tea rolled into a pellet shape, is one of the most common and readily available teas in China. This tea was created by using a wetting process during a very short roasting period. By keeping the leaves moist longer, they dry at a slower rate and growers are able to achieve that popular pellet shape and a wonderfully unique flavor.
Similar to an oolong, gunpowder teas can handle multiple steepings as it will take some time for the leaves to completely unfurl and release their flavors.
